From October 2003 to May 2011, he served as Special Adviser on Roads and Senior Executive Assistant to the Ogun State Governor. Between 2006 and 2011 he was the Chairman, Ogun State Lawn Tennis Association.

Aremo Akindele has delivered lectures on existence in many countries worldwide including Britain, Ethiopia, Kenya, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Canada and the USA. He is a holder of several awards and honors including the John F. Kennedy memorial essay award for Lagos zone in 1966, Delegate to the 1967 Herald Tribune World Youth Forum in New York, American President award for Tennis, 1973, best all round athlete, Long Island University, Southampton, New York in 1971.

He is a member of Nigerian Conservation Foundation, Nigerian Environmental Society, Abeokuta Sport Club, Abeokuta, US Professional Tennis Association, and life member, National Wildlife Federation, Washington DC, USA, amongst others.
