Mrs Risquat Oluremi SALAKO
Mrs. Salako is a laboratory scientist with specialization in Medical Microbiology. She holds the Higher National Diploma (HND) in Microbiology from the Yaba College of Technology (1994), Associate Medical Laboratory Science certificate from the School of Medical Laboratory Science, Lagos University Teaching Hospital (1994), Post graduate diploma in Microbiology from the Lagos State University (2004) and Master of Science (MSc) in Medical Microbiology and Parasitology from Ogun State University (2012). She is currently a PhD student in Medical Microbiology and Public Health at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.
She is an associate member, Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria and Nigeria Institute of Science Technology.
Her working carrier spanning over 15 years started from the Lagos State Environmental Agency laboratory where she served as corper microbiologist. She worked at Check-Up Medical Laboratory as medical laboratory scientist, Lagos State Ministry of Health, Drug Quality Control Laboratory as a Laboratory Analyst (Microbiology) and Ogun State Hospital, Sokenu, Abeokuta as Principal Medical Laboratory Scientist. Mrs. Salako is currently an Assistant Chief Medical Laboratory Scientist at the Department of Public Health, Ogun State Ministry of Health where she is serving as the State Laboratory Scientist and the laboratory focal person for the state’s AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infection Control Programme (SASCAP).
Mrs. Salako has attended over 35 training/workshops in her area of specialization. Some of the training/workshop includes Workshop on International Health Protocol (2005), Comparative Nucleic and Isolation Protocols (2008), Nucleic acid isolation and PCR technology training (2009), Logistic Management and Quantification Course for Rapid Test Kit (2011), Workshop for ISS/OJCB Supervisory Team for Health Sector Managers in Ogun State (2012), Logistic Management of Health Commodities (2014) and the National Training of State Rapid Response Team on Ebola Emergency Operation Centre, Preparedness and Response.
A good organizer, skilled trainer, Mrs. Salako loves reading and writing. She is married with children.
